Donald Vibbert

Donald Q. Vibbert age 80 of Corunna, Michigan died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Pastor David Strobe will officiate with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, from 2-8 p.m. with the family present 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 7:00 p.m.

Donald was born in Brockway, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1927 the son of Albert Eugene and Emma Jane ( Baker ) Vibbert. He resided most of his life in the Jackson and Corunna areas and went to trade school to be a electrician. Donald married Gladys Elkins on September 14, 1947 in Corunna, Michigan. Donald worked as an electrician thru IBEW Union. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and going up north to his brother-in-law's cabin. He served in the US Army during 1945-1947. Donald was a member of First United Methodist Church of Corunna. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Mason as well as a member of the Shiawassee Shrine Club and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Gladys Vibbert of Corunna, MI, son Gregory & Robin Vibbert of Stevensville, MI, daughter Donna & Matt of Corunna, MI, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brothers; Glenn & Pauline Vibbert of Spring Arbor, MI, Kenneth Vibbert of Caro, MI, Max & Virginia Vibbert of Kernersville, NC, Wayne & Barbara Vibbert of Spring Arbor, MI, sister Ruth Edgerton of Caro, MI, and many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, step-son Marvin Prout, and grandson Anthony Dume.

Memorials may be made to Shiawassee Shrine Club or First United Methodist Church of Corunna. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes,
Corunna Chapel.
