Donald E. Watson, age 81 of Ovid, Michigan passed away Monday, February 23, 2004, Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Masonic Services will be held Wednesday Evening at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral Home. Pastor Donald Ruff will officiate with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, Michigan. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 and Wednesday 2-8 P.M.
Donald was born on July 25, 1922 in Ovid, Michigan, the son of Ellis and Neva (Baker) Watson. On April 12, 1948 he married Londa Cassady in Ovid, Michigan. Londa died on February 14, 1995. He retired from Clinton Machine in Ovid and he was a farmer. Donald served in the navy during WW II. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the American Legion in Harrison and of the Moose Lodge in Harrison, Michigan.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa & Al Roberts of Ovid, Michigan, his 3 grandsons Michael & Amy Watson of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Ryan Acre of Elsie, Michigan, and Corey Acre of Elsie, Michigan, 1 great granddaughter Hope, and 2 sisters-in-law Carol Watson of Elsie, Michigan, and Shirley Watson of Ovid, Michigan.
He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, and 2 brothers Robert and Richard Watson.
Memorials may be made to a local Moose Lodge in memory of Donald. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
