Donald Willis Hier

     Donald Willis "Don" Hier, age 61, of Ashley, MI, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
     A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.
     Don was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 9, 1963, the son of Donald Wayne and Harriet Rose (Simpson) Hier. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School, with the class of 1981. Don married Sheila Rene Hindall, on December 26, 1982, in Bannister, Michigan. They were blessed with almost forty-two years of marriage.
     Don retired from Oxford Automotive in Alma. He was a supportive dad and enjoyed watching his son's sporting events, never missing a game. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Alabama, North Carolina, and Oklahoma.
      He is survived by his wife Sheila Hier of Ashley, MI; sons: Joshua and Trisha Hier of Ovid, MI; Brandon and Katelyn Hier of St. Johns, MI; grandson Bennet Hier; his brother Jeff Hier of Holt, MI; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob and Tina Hindall of Ithaca, MI; Linda and Dave Grover of Clare, MI; Denise Uribe of St. Johns, MI; and sister-in-law Judy Hier of Elsie, MI. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Harriett Hier, his brother Dale Hier, and mother and father-in-law Charles and Kay Hindall.
