Donalda Kusenda

Donna June Kusenda, age 95, of Ovid, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, surrounded by her family at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns.
Funeral Services will be held at United Church of Ovid, 131 West Front Street, Ovid, Michigan at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, with Pastor Dr. Eugene Blair officiating.  Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 12 noon until the time of service at the church.
Donna was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 22, 1925, the daughter of Floyd H. and Wilda (Hipkins) Johnson.  On July 15, 1946 she married Milton D. Kusenda in Chicago, Illinois.  She and Milt moved to Ovid, Michigan in 1952 and raised their 3 children.  Milt passed away on December 28, 1963.  Donna began working for the United States Post Office in Ovid in 1965 and retired after 20 years of service.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading and music.  Donna was the taxi driver for her family and grandchildren's events.
Donna enjoyed watching Star Trek and was a true Trekkie.  She was a member of United Church of Ovid.  She loved to sing in the church choir and served with the church finances and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her son Dan and Karen Kusenda; 2 daughters: Debbie and Jim Gorney, and Diane and Mike Perrien.  She is also survived by 1 granddaughter Allison Kusenda Halerz and Mike and 4 grandsons: George and Molly Gorney, Kevin and Heather Gorney, Jacob and Mary Perrien, and Richard and Cassie Perrien; and 11 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters: Dorothy Sauber and Bobbie Price.
