Donna Hipolite

Donna Lea Hipolite, age 80, of Ithaca, MI, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family Monday, January 13, 2020, at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, MI.

A Private Graveside Service was held at Pine Grove Cemetery with Pastor E. J. Wolf officiating.

Donna was born in Ithaca, MI on June 12, 1939, the daughter of Arthur Bruce and Erline I. (Teachworth) Clark. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1957. On October 12, 1958, Donna married Alvin Ferris Hipolite at the Ithaca Methodist Church. Together they shared 61 years of marriage. They were members of the Ithaca Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Donna loved the Lord with all of her heart and served Him in all she did. She spent her life caring for her husband and family. She loved her family and time spent with them.  Donna was a very giving person always ready to help someone out.  She enjoyed feeding the birds, tending her flowers, and reading, especially the Laura Ingalls Wilder books.

Donna is survived by her husband Alvin Hipolite of Ithaca, and 6 children: Ferris (Lori) Hipolite, Scott (Kelly) Hipolite, Clarissa Leslie, Florence (Dave) Stead, Laura (Bill) Compton, and Wayne (Melissa) Hipolite.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Ladette (David) Smith, Jeremy (Kristina) Leslie, Brandon (fiancée Paige Kyser) Hipolite, Emily (Thomas) Weaver, Brooke (Mike) Lowell, Kyle Slagell, Ferris (fiancée Sheri Anderson) Hipolite, Bennett (fiancée Paige Allen) Hipolite, Alexandria Slagell, Heather Stead, Hannah Hipolite, Carmen (Jeff) Sommerville, and Craig (Rachel) Compton; 15 great-grandchildren, brother Arthur Bruce (Kay) Clark, 2 sisters: June Shutes and Joy Peak, and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Lorraine (William) Foster, and brother-in-law Arthur William Hipolite.
