Donna Eileen Terrell, age 81, of Bannister, Michigan, died Saturday, April 16th, 2011 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, Michigan on Wednesday, April 20th at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Jon Pohl and Pastor Joe Robbe will officiate. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday 6 - 8 P.M. and on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie chapel.
Donna and her twin sister were born in St. Louis, Michigan on January 27, 1930, the daughter of Lee and Vera (Coon) Mitchell. She resided most of her life in Bannister and she graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1948. She enjoyed playing basketball and was the vice president of her senior class.
On June 24, 1951 she married Allan Kaye Terrell in Bannister, Michigan. Donna worked at Kroger's and Federal Mogul in St. Johns before she and Kaye started their family. She was a full-time homemaker, neighbor, friend and enjoyed baking cinnamon rolls and cowboy cookies. Donna was the GPS of the farm and her family. In 1970 with the addition of 20000 laying hens she was very involved with gathering eggs daily. Donna loved using numbers and balancing her and many neighbors check books. Caring for her grandchildren brought great enjoyment and satisfaction to her. Kaye died April 18, 2003 after 51 years of marriage. Donna was a member of Ashley United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women group.
She is survived by 3 daughters Deb and Rod Smith of Ithaca, MI; Diana Luckhardt of Bannister, MI; Darlene and Phil Lund of Sheridan, MI; Son, William and Tammy Terrell of Bannister, MI; daughter-in-law Kathy Terrell of Bannister, MI; 10 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister Delphine Lippert of Ithaca, MI; 1 sister in law Betty Mitchell of Bannister, MI; 1 brother in law Dan Zammaron of Middleton, MI.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 son Allan, 3 sisters, her twin Doris, Dalice, Dorothy, 2 brothers, William and Wilbur.
Memorials may be made to Ashley Care Center for the purchase of Bibles for their residents, or United Methodist Women at the Ashley United Methodist Church.
