Doreen A. Kridner, age 90, of Elsie, Michigan died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Ingham County Medical Care Facility, Lansing, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Dr. Donald Ferris-McCann and Pastor Fred Fischer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Doreen was born in Bannister, Michigan on February 12, 1923, the daughter of Frank and Augusta (Moore) Oberlin. She resided most of her life in Bannister and Elsie, MI and graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1940. She then attended Lansing Business College. Doreen married Robert G. Kridner on February 23, 1946 in Elsie, Michigan; he preceded her in death on April 8, 1993. Doreen was a homemaker, farmer, and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She taught sewing for 4-H for several years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sewing, crossword puzzles, and gardening. Doreen was a member of the Elsie Methodist Church, Wacousta OES Chapter #133, and 4-Korner Card Group.
Doreen is survived by 2 sons; Ralph (Jo) Kridner of Elsie, MI, Kenneth (Sharon) Kridner of Lake Orion, MI, daughter Patricia Wysong of Holt, MI, 2 grandchildren; Ralph II (Jo Latimore) Kridner of Ypsilanti, MI, Melissa (Maurice) Charbonneau of Eastpointe, MI, 2 great grandchildren; Marceline and Mirielle Charbonneau of Eastpointe, MI, 2 brothers; Jack Oberlin of Bannister, MI, and Bob Oberlin of Elsie, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and 2 sisters; Doris Moore, and Wanda LaRue.
