Doris L. Adams, age 66, of Owosso, MI passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Tom Goupil will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11-3 PM prior to the service.
Doris was born in Newberry, Michigan on March 18, 1944, the daughter of Ivan and Dora (Easterbrook) Porter. She was a graduate of Corunna High School Class of 1961 and resided most of her life in Owosso.
Doris and David were married on June 19, 1962 in Jonesboro, AR. He passed away on July 12, 2008.
She owned and operated Adams & Sons Hauling for 37 years with her husband. Doris loved gardening and was dedicated to healthy living and working out. Her family was the joy of her life. She was a member of Gilead Baptist Church
Doris is survived by 3 sons Duane Adams and Michelle Butcher of Mt. Morrice, MI; Darren Adams of Owosso, MI; David Adams and Sherrie Ebright of Owosso, MI; daughter Lila Michelle VanEtten and Dwayne Martin of Owosso, MI; 7 grandchildren Alicia Adams, Angela Adams, Joshua Geren, Matthew Karrer, Skylar David Adams, Hunter Adams and Lyla Louise Adams; 3 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters Julia of Michigan, Sharon of Michigan, Donna of Washington, Alice of Arizonia, Faye of Michigan, Susan of Texas, 6 brothers Roy of Michigan, James of Michigan, Donald of Michigan, Harry of Florida, George of Michigan, Ivan Jr. of Michigan.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Bert and Gene.
