Doris M. Conklin age 84 of Elsie, Michigan died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at her cottage in Lake City, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Rev. Ed Snook & Rev. Fred Fischer will officiate.
Doris was born on February 26, 1922 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Paul & Grace ( Thomas ) Remus. She had resided in Lansing, Michigan, moving to Elsie in 1954 and graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing with the class of 1940. On April 25, 1953 she married Keith Conklin in Lansing, Michigan. She had worked for Michigan Milk Producers Association in Ovid, Michigan, retiring in 1984 after 24 years of service. Doris was a member of Elsie United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Womena�(TM)s. Doris enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Conklin of Elsie, Michigan, 1 daughter, Julie & Mark Semans of Owosso, Michigan, 1 son, Allen & Wendy Conklin of Elsie, Michigan, 6 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild, 1 sister, Alice Love of Laingsburg, Michigan. She was predeceased by her parents & 1 daughter Sandy Pretz.
Memorial may be made to the Elsie United Methodist Women.
