Doris Crawford

Doris E. Crawford age 98 of Owosso, Michigan died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Pastor John Downing will officiate with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 4-8 P.M. and Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 1 until the time of service at 2:00 P.M.

Doris was born in Chapin, Michigan on December 24, 1908 the daughter of Dee Loynes and Emma Snyder. She resided most of her life in Ovid, Michigan and graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1926. Doris married Clare Crawford on February 14, 1939 in Owosso, MI. He died on November 1, 1989. Doris was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Owosso, MI and a past member of the United Methodist Church, Ovid, MI where she was very active. She was very active in Ovid Community functions.

She is survived by 2 daughters Jean Elmer of Holly, MI, Kaye & Paul Mieden of Perrysburg, OH, 4 grandchildren; Jeffrey & Amy Elmer, David & Cheryl Elmer, Bill & Val Froman, Leigh Ann & Bruce Stone, 3 step- grandchildren; Jackie & Jerry Chrismer, Rob & Sharon Mieden, James & Becky Mieden, 17 great grandchildren, sister Coyla Jennings, and sister-in-law Vlasta Loynes. She is predeceased by her husband, brother Ennes Loynes, and son-in-law Gary Elmer.

Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ or the Ovid United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI.
