Doris Davis

Doris A. Davis, age 79, of Corunna, MI passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Corunna, MI on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. and Friday, March 19, 2010 from 11:30 until the time of service at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna, Chapel. There will be a V.F.W. Auxiliary Service at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday evening.

Doris was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 22, 1931, the daughter of Silvan and Jessie (Eckerle) Lecureux. She graduated from Corunna High School with the class of 1949. Doris married Arnel Davis on November 4, 1950. Arnel passed away on February 26, 2010.

Doris enjoyed taking care of her family and wintering in Arizona with her husband Arnel. She also liked to watch and feed the birds at her home. Doris was an avid gardener, quilter, and enjoyed going antiquing. She resided most of her life in the Corunna area. Doris was a member of the Corunna V.F.W. Post 4005 Auxiliary, the Garden, Quilting and Antique Clubs in Owosso. She was also a Girl Scout leader for many years.

She is survived by her children; Donald and Barb Davis of North Royalton, OH, Beverly Davis of Westerville, OH, Robert and Barb Davis of Corunna, MI, Dana and Darrell Conley of Bath, MI, Pat and Chris Simmons of Laingsburg, MI, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by her parents, her husband Arnel, one stepson Arnel Davis, Jr. while serving in Vietnam; and two brothers Robert and Stanley.
