Doris Dosson

Doris Jean Dosson, age 88, of St Louis, MI, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Arbor Grove Assisted Living Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Breckenridge United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Devon Dosson officiating. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery Breckenridge, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Doris was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on February 12, 1926, the daughter of Homer and Etta (Ferrell) Millbaugh. She graduated from Breckenridge High School with the class of 1944. Doris married Dale Dosson on February 13, 1945; he preceded her in death on February 18, 2002. Doris resided most of her life in Breckenridge until retirement when she and Dale wintered in Arizona and spent summers at Higgins Lake. She retired from the City of Alma Police Department after over 30 years of service as a police officer. Doris loved to travel, including trips to Europe and Hawaii. She was a member of Breckenridge United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Darryl and Rosemary (Stover) Dosson of Breckenridge, MI, 3 grandchildren; Devon and Jennifer Dosson of Lodge Grass, MT, Derek and Sara Dosson of St. Louis, MI, Amanda and Tyler Bauer of Grand Rapids, MI, 11 great grandchildren; Dillon, Dakota, Dane, Dalton, Sayde, Decker, Shelby, and Deagon Dosson, Jace, Brenna, and Cash Bauer, and sister in law Ruth Millbaugh of Rapid River, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Arthur.
