Doris Graham

Doris M. Graham age 96, of Alma, MI, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Jut Daron officiating. The family will be present to welcome friends at 10:00 a.m.

Doris was born in Blanchard, MI on November 26, 1920 the daughter of Charles F. and Bertha E. Grim.  She graduated from Coral High School with the class of 1939.  Doris served her country as a nurse stationed at the USN Hospital in San Diego during WWII.  She was a member of WAVE National Michigan Unit 32. At her request, her flag will be donated to Fort Custer for the Flag entrance.

On May 15, 1948 Doris married Ronald G. Graham at her mother's house in Blanchard. After 42 years of marriage, Ron preceded her in death in 1990.

Doris was a nurse at Smith Memorial and Gratiot Community Hospitals for almost 30 years.  She made afghans for the veterans, and stocking caps for the newborn babies at Gratiot Community Hospital until just this past month.  She loved BINGO at Pine Villa.  Most of all she loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

Doris is survived by her children: Clare James (Wanda) Graham, Patricia Anne Robinson, and Mark Charles (Brenda) Graham; 8 grandchildren: Brian (Suzie) Robinson, Chad (Rob) Robinson, Troy Graham,  Shelby (Matt) Honig, Lyndsey Graham, Garret Graham, Bridgett Graham, Tyler (Sarah) Graham; and 14 great grandchildren.  Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, son-in-law Dennis Robinson, and siblings: Annabelle, Joseph (Nina) Grim, Arthur (Edith) Grim, Harold Grim, Paul (Margie) Grim, and Lois (Frank) Reynolds.
