Doris Gregor

Doris V. Gregor age 83, of Elsie, MI, went to be with her Lord Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor David Ward officiating. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery, Fairfield Township, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Doris was born in Corunna, MI on December 17, 1934 the daughter of Lyle and Edith (Bullard) Janes.  On September 25, 1954, Doris married Anton "Tony" Gregor in Owosso, MI.  After nearly 61 years of marriage, Tony passed away on September 6, 2015.

Doris was a rural postal carrier in the Elsie area.  She also worked at Globe Union in Owosso.  She loved to work on genealogy.  Finding her family tree was her passion.  Doris enjoyed volunteering at the Elsie Historical Room, helping others discover their ancestry.  She was a member of Community Christian Fellowship in Oakley.  Doris resided most of her life in the Elsie area.

Doris leaves behind sons: Gary Gregor of Owosso, and Gene (Dawn Rouse) Gregor of Elsie; 6 grandchildren: Brandee (Tom) Powrie, Krista (Greg) Pierce, Pamela (Aaron) Johnson, Meagan (Terry) Densmore, Chad (Jamie) Gregor, and Derek Gregor; 15 great grandchildren; brother Basil (Thelma) Janes; sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Mary Janes; and many nieces and nephews.  Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Shelby, sister Opal and four brothers:  Leo, LaVern, Merlin, and Eldon.
