Doris Parmenter

Doris Hellen Parmenter, age 80, of Durand, MI. passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center, in Flint, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.

Doris was born in Macomb County, Michigan on April 9, 1928, the daughter of Guy C. and Thelma (McElavy) Hazelton. She graduated from Morrice High School and she resided most of her life in Owosso and Durand. Doris married Robert Parmenter. He passed away in 1993. Doris worked at Redmond's for a number of years, and also for VG's in Owosso. Doris enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and square dancing with her husband Bob. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter Helen (Jarrad) and Arthur Payne of Montrose, MI, one son Dennis Jarrad of White Cloud, MI, the father of her children Laverne Jarrad; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Doris was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert, two sons; Larry and Randy Jarrad, one grandson Joshua Jarrad, three brothers; Raymond, Guy, and Edwin Hazelton and special friend Charlie Muna.
