Doris Jean Street, age 88, of Bancroft, MI passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Swank Assisted Care Living Facility in Swartz Creek, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Corunna, MI on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Rev Steve Lockman will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Wednesday, April 14, from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.
Doris was born in Clio, Michigan on May 19, 1921, the daughter of Vernon and Lena (Best) Foster. She graduated from Flushing High School with the class of 1939. Doris married Lawrence Street on February 17, 1945 in Flushing, MI. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, snowmobiling, and playing cards. Doris loved to entertain at her home for family and friends with her cooking and hospitality. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She reside most of her life in the Bancroft area. Doris was a life time member of the Order of Eastern Stars, a member of the Bancroft Study Club, and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Flint, MI.
She is survived by her son Robert and Sherry Street of Bancroft, MI, daughter Linda and Charles Martinus of Lennon, MI, 5 grandchildren; Jason & Dawn (Bonfiglio) Street, Summer and Brian Newman, Jeremy Street, Stephen Martinus, Melissa and William Riley, and 5 great grandchildren; Christopher, Austin, Noah, Travis, and Samantha. Doris was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 2003, 2 sisters; Mae and Jane, and brother Jack.
