Doris Wardwell

Doris Loretta Wardwell, age 79, of Elsie, Michigan passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan, on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.

Doris was born in Saginaw County, Michigan on August 17, 1936, the daughter of Theodore and Alma (Boyd) Bates.  She graduated from Ashley High School.  On November 2, 1957 Doris married Ivan Wardwell in Saginaw County, Michigan.

Doris was a hard worker and was a home healthcare worker, and at the former Hancock factory in Elsie.  She and her husband formerly owned and operated Wardwell Ceramics in Elsie, Michigan.

She is survived by her husband Ivan Wardwell of Elsie, MI, daughter Lesia Hebeler of Bannister, MI, 2 grandchildren; Jodie Hebeler of Midland, MI, and Michael and (Nina) Hebeler of Ovid, Michigan.  She was predeceased by her parents, daughter Jayne and grandson Jessie James Hebeler.
