Dorothy Clara Crosby, age 92, of Alma, MI passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Peter Carlson officiating. Burial will take place at Richland Township Cemetery, Vestaburg, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Vestaburg, Michigan on September 9, 1922, the daughter of Clarence and Rilla (Guthrie) Borton. She married Marion Crosby on December 10, 1937; they were married for 65 years before he passed away in December of 2002. Dorothy worked with Marion on their family poultry farm, she also worked at Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti, MI and at Miller Pickle Company in Edmore, MI. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, sewing, reading and time with her family. She spent 13 winters in Florida with her husband. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Vestaburg for 60 years.
She is survived by 5 children; Dean and Inez Crosby of Elwell, MI, Don and Rosemary Crosby of Vestaburg, MI, Janis Crosby of Alma, MI, Pat and Ken Frost of Blanchard, MI, JoAnn Crosby of Vestaburg, MI, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by several step grandchildren, brother Dale and Irene Borton of Crystal, MI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her grandson Paul Frost of Blanchard, MI, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
