Dorothy E. Denovich, age 79, of Bannister, Michigan died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:00 AM, Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate. Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 5-8 PM. and on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 2-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday Evening at 6:00 P.M.

Dorothy was born in Elba Township, Michigan on May 12, 1932, the daughter of William and Helen (Korienek) Nemcik. Dorothy married Michael Denovich on November 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1993. Dorothy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flowers, watching and feeding birds, listening to polka music and baking. She was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister.

Dorothy is survived by three sons: Michael and Denise Denovich of Bannister, MI, Bruce and Joanne Denovich of St. Johns, MI, Mark and Vicki Denovich of Bannister, MI, two daughters: Michelle and Matt Peck of Elsie, MI, Milissa and Keith Reha of Ovid, MI, and daughter-in-law Wendy Denovich. Dorothy is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Josh (Jill) Harnick, Kristie (Ryan) Sherman, Brent (Erica) Denovich, Katie (Brandon) Weingartz, Katrina (DJ) Edwards, Matthew Peck, Mary Jo and Daniel Denovich, Nicholas and Jessica Reha, Kevin (Linda) Reha, Amanda (Art) Villarreal and Bridget & Brooke Denovich, 8 great grandchildren; Hunter Harnick, Camille Sherman, Ethan O'Brien, Tanner and Taylor Reha, Mason, Caden and Scarlett Villarreal, 2 brothers; Jim (Allison) Nemcik and Bill (Clara) Nemcik and four sisters: Elaine Rademacher, Darlene (Don) Pambin, Theresa (Jim) Ginther and Jeanette (Al) Haven, many nieces, nephews and her caregivers at Hazel Findlay. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Denovich, great grandson Devon Wildermuth, sister Helen Bast and brother Tom Nemcik.
