Dorothy R. Harrison, age 89, of Alma, MI passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, with Pastor George Showers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Dorothy was born in St. Louis, Michigan on May 24, 1924, the daughter of Adolph and Rosina (Ringenberg) Ebnit. Dorothy married Arthur Harrison on September 9, 1943 and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2007 after 64 years of marriage.
Dorothy worked at Swift Company in Alma, Redmond Motors in Ithaca, Ashley Corporation, and retired from Seal Power in Alma. She enjoyed her family, spending winters in Florida, summers at their cottage at Long Lake, Cheboygan, and making many cross stitched picture for family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by sister-in-law Betty Ebnit of St. Johns, nephew Clare (Lois) Myers of Shepherd, 3 nieces; Mary VanSickle, Dorene Stone of Coleman, Lavonne (Bill) Hall of Garland, TX, niece Pat Ebnit of Alma, nephew Rex (Marge) Ebnit of Midland, nephew Terry (Joy) Ebnit of Elwell, nephew Delance "Butch" Alward of St. Louis, niece Carol (Jerry) Glave of Ithaca, nephew Larry (Carol) Ebnit of Alma, niece Vicki (Wes) Litwiller of Ithaca, niece Sue Webster of St. Johns, nephew Donald Ebnit of Ft Wayne, IN, and several special great and great-great nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings; Catherine (Donald) Myers, Edith (Norval) Arbogast, John (Julia) Ebnit, Violet (Robert) Alward, Harvey (Ivah), Alfred, Donald (Anne) and Walter Ebnit, and 2 nephews; Donald Lee (Joyce) Myers and Bill Ebnit.
