Dorothy Kuepfer

Dorothy Mae Mininger Kuepfer was born to William and Elizabeth Peters Mininger, on May 9, 1920, in Gratiot County, Michigan. The Lord called her home June 14, 2015, at the Masonic Pathways, Alma, Michigan, reaching the age of ninety-five years.

Funeral Services will be held at Newark Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Ithaca, MI, on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:45 A.M., with Rev. Darin Litwiller and Rev. Mike Litwiller officiating.

Upon the confession of her faith, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, April 25, 1935, by her grandfather, Min. Hiram J. Mininger, at the Newark Mennonite Church Ithaca, Michigan. She remained faithful to her vows to the end.

On August 16, 1957, Dorothy was married to Leon Kuepfer by Min. Newell Litwiller. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for nearly thirty-six years until Leon passed away on April 21, 1993.

Since Dorothy was thirty-seven when she married, her nieces and nephews have many pleasant memories of playing with Aunt Dorothy at "Grandma's house". She loved children and enjoyed playing games with them. We were never sure who was doing the entertaining!

Dorothy had a child-like trusting faith that God would supply all of her needs. She was content with the simple things of life. She had a sincere desire to be faithful to the end. Family and friends meant more to her than even modest possessions.

Dorothy entered Maple View Adult Fester Care in January 2002 living there approximately ten years. She enjoyed her time spent there with Kevin, Sherry, Darren and Larissa. Dorothy often expressed her thankfulness for the care they provided. We as a family also appreciate the tender care she received at Maple View.

In the fall of 2013 it became evident that Dorothy needed more care than could be provided at Maple View. At this time she moved to Masonic Pathways where she resided until her passing. She adapted well to her new home, winning the hearts of her caretakers and other residents. She said, "God dropped me off here, on my way to heaven", believing God had a purpose for her at Masonic Pathways. She was never afraid to speak of her faith in God, witnessing to all who entered her life. We as a family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of Masonic Pathways for the loving care provided. Dorothy often expressed her love for you.

Dorothy had a special love of gospel singing and asked everyone who visited her to sing at least one song. After she was mostly confined to a bed she hummed tunes and sang songs to pass the time.

Left to cherish her memories are three sisters; Elaine of Perrinton, Michigan, Wilmina Wesenberg of Ithaca, Michigan, Ruth Nichols of Montezuma, Kansas, two brothers; Bill and LaFreda, of Barron, Wisconsin; Don and Gretta, of Ithaca, Michigan, and stepson-in-law, David Anderson of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and a special nephew, Carl Kuepfer of Goltry. Oklahoma. Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, stepdaughter Darlene, two sisters, and two brothers.
