Dorothy T. Thomas age 86 of Perry, Michigan formerly of Owosso, MI died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Olive Branch Assisted Living, Perry, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Ron Hutson - Hospice Chaplain will officiate with burial at Grace Lawn Cemetery Flint, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 4-8 P.M.

Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on March 31, 1921 the daughter of Roy J. and Marjorie E. ( Dotzauer ) Griffin. She resided in Owosso, Michigan since 1953 until she moved to Perry, MI 1 year ago. She graduated from Saginaw Arthur Hill High School and then attended Thomas Moore College in Kentucky. Dorothy married Donald Thomas on May 23, 1953 at the Saginaw Presbyterian Church. He died on June 21, 2007. She worked as the Director for local Youth for Understanding helping exchange students. She enjoyed throwing themed parties and she played the harp. Dorothy was a member of First Congregational Church, Owosso, MI as well as Kings Daughters, Shiawassee ABWA, where she was named Woman of the Year 1993, Red Hat Society, Past President of the Owosso Women's Club, Potpourri Herb Guild, and the Memorial Health Center Auxillary.

She is survived by 2 sons; Dennis C. & Julie Thomas of Adrian, MI, Douglas R. & Cynthia Thomas of Owosso, MI, grandson Zachary Douglas Thomas of Owosso, MI, granddaughter Alyssa Thomas of Owosso, MI, and 1 brother: Robert Griffin of Tawas City, MI. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI.
