Douglas Harvey Fischer, age 47, of Williamston, MI passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M at House of Prayer, 9974 E. Old M-78, Haslett, MI 48840. Pastor Dave Cokonougher and Pastor Thomas VanDyke will officiate.
Douglas was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 1, 1964. He is the son of Frederick H. and Juanita M. (Rodgers) Fischer. Doug resided most of his life in the Owosso area. He and his children are members of the Sault Ste. Marie Chippewa Indian Tribe. Doug worked as an Audio Engineer for WLNS TV 6 Lansing and had worked for General Motors in production. Music was a huge part of his life. One of his proudest achievements was working with Chuck Berry. Doug was involved in running sound for numerous local bands, and he enjoyed playing bass guitar with his band Sinister Black. He made a huge impact on many people in the area, and he will be forever cherished.
He is survived by his parents Frederick and Juanita Fischer of Williamston, MI, son Kerry and Kimberly Fischer of Laingsburg, MI, daughter KayLee Fischer and special friend Richard Chandler of Owosso, MI, grandson Keagan Fischer of Laingsburg, MI, friend and mother of his children Angela Fischer of Owosso, MI, sister Beverly and Don Finch of Haslett, MI, nephew Garrett Finch of Haslett, MI, niece Elizabeth Finch of Haslett, MI, & granddog Lyla of Owosso, MI, Leona Christine Kay (birth mother)(Elder of the Sault Ste. Marie Chippewa Indian Tribe.)
