Douglas James “Doug” Kvalevog, age 44 of St. Johns Michigan passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
Doug was born in Owosso MI on June 29, 1980, the son of Henry T. and Mary Ann (Feathers) Kvalevog. Doug graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1998. GO MARAUDERS!
He married his high school sweetheart, Jessica Mapes on July 16, 1999, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Ovid, MI. Together they were blessed with five amazing children who are their world. Doug worked as a Central Sterile Processing Manager with University of Michigan Health Sparrow St. Lawrence campus. He was a hard worker and loved his job and the people he worked with. He was a lifelong U of M fan and a true Philadelphia Eagles fan. He also loved traveling the country to watch the Detroit Tigers. He recently rediscovered a passion for hunting. If Doug wasn’t at home, you could often find him on the lake in his kayak fishing.
Most of all, Doug loved spending time with his family. A full house is a happy house. He was a jokester and loved making people laugh. He was the light of the room. Doug was a devoted and loving husband, the absolute BEST father who spent countless hours sitting in the stands cheering on his kids at ALL of their sporting events. He was the brother you could count on for anything, and the best “hunky Doug” around. He was loved by all and will be missed beyond measure.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Jessica Kvalevog, children: Weston Kvalevog and fiancée Emme Koutz, Gage Kvalevog (and special friend Katie), Tava Kvalevog (and special friend Joe), Emberlyn Kvalevog (and special friend Maverick), and Joby Kvalevog. He is also survived by his siblings: Tom Kvalevog, Lori & Barry Hardwick, Meri and Jeff Smith, Joye and John Zielinski, Steve and Fiorela Kvalevog, Kara and James Vines, father and mother-in-law Michael and Ethel Mapes, sisters and brothers-in-law: Leah Mapes and fiancé Dan Phillips, Quintin and Brianna Force Mapes, Crystal and Chad Bashore, and Eileen and Dave Halfmann, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Christina, John, Tina, Bob, Wade, and Larry, and niece Sage.
