Duane W. Beck age 69 of Ashley, Michigan died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel Ithaca, MI on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 6-8 P.M.

Duane was born in Milford, Michigan on June 23, 1938 the son of Willard and Queena ( Rhynard ) Beck. He resided most of his life in the Ashley area and attended Milford & Ashley Schools. Duane married Ruth Chase on December 24, 1962 in Alma, MI. He retired from Dana Corp in 2001. He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers & small engines, and he used to farm. Duane enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family. He loved to hunt and fish with his sons. Duane served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Beck of Ashley, MI, 3 children Rick Beck of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff & Monica Beck of Ithaca, MI, Kim & David Levandowski of Alma, MI, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother Dale & Edna Mae Beck of Holt, MI, 2 sisters; Marilyn & Vick Palmer of Rockford, MI, Shirley & "Kat" Katelnieks of Rockford, MI, and sister-in-law: Norma Beck of Scottsdale, AZ. He is predeceased by his parents, and 1 brother Raymond Beck.

Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Cancer Institute at Ingham Regional Medical Center, 401 W. Greenlawn Avenue, Lansing, MI 48910-2819. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
