Duane Charles Conrad Sr., age 76, of Owosso, MI passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 5, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
Duane was born in Durand, MI, on December 22, 1932, the son of Alfred B. and Gladys (Wilson) Conrad. Duane married Judith Wilson on February 22, 1958 in Ovid, MI. He resided in Owosso most of his life, moving to Crystal Falls, MI after retiring. He was a member of First Church of Christ, Owosso, MI. Duane retired in 1996 from Creco Inc. & Industrial Plastics of Owosso after 38 years. Duane loved to fish and enjoyed gardening. He had a great love for old tractors. Family was very important to Duane.
He is survived by his wife Judy Conrad of Owosso, MI, daughter Brenda and Thomas Behnke of Whitehouse, OH, 3 sons; Duane and Vickie Conrad, Jr. of Owosso, MI, David and Patricia Conrad of Owosso, MI & Doug and Bonnie Conrad of Oakley, MI, grandchildren; Heather and Mark Greenho, Jessica Behnke, Duane Conrad, III, Shannon and Steve Van Blaricum, David Conrad Jr., & Jaimie Conrad, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters; Barbara and Merlin Grange of Upper Peninsula, Ilene Kostoff of Corunna, MI, Shirley and Russell McGregor of Plainwell, MI & Phyllis West of Harrison, MI, and 2 brothers; Larry and Judy Conrad of Perry, MI, and Robert Conrad, Sr. of Iron River, MI. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Tommy Behnke, 1 sister and 1 brother.
