Earl III

Earl Edwin Brown, III, age 58, of Elsie, Michigan passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family, after a 3 year battle with ALS.

A Memorial Service will be held at Carland Brethren in Christ Church, Owosso, MI on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Monty Kent and Mr. Matt Airgood officiating.

Earl was born in Gaylord, Michigan on March 31, 1956, the son of Earl Edwin and Elsie Elizabeth (Crissey) Brown. He graduated from Inlands Lakes High School with the class of 1974. Earl married Clara M. Holdorph on May 31, 1980. Earl started his career as a printer in 1977 at Little Traverse Printing and The Print Shop in Petoskey. He ended his printing career at Crest Printing in Owosso in 2003. He also worked at Wal-Mart for 3 years before retiring in 2011. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, go snowmobiling and ice fish. Earl served on the Wolverine Fire Department for 10 years and the Corunna Fire Department for 1 year. He loved his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children & grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Clara Brown of Elsie, MI, son Aaron Brown of Tucson, AZ, daughter Lacey Brown of Owosso, MI, son Chad Brown of Harbor Springs, MI, and son Adam Brown of Elsie, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Zayla Brown of Owosso, MI, Kollin & Olivia Kline of Owosso, MI, Elizabeth Brown of Corunna, MI, and Justice Cortright-Lawrence of Bancroft, MI, and sister Terry and Patrick Poziombke of Spencer, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Elsie Brown and his grandparents.
