Earnest Randolph "Bud" Roslund, age 94, of St. Louis, MI went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at home with his family, and now joins his wife Elaine in heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1945 Michigan Ave., Alma, MI on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Henry Kubin officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Alma, MI.
Bud was born in Paxton, Illinois on April 28, 1919, the son of Oscar N. and Hulda (Erickson) Roslund. He graduated from Breckenridge High School. Bud served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Bud married Eunice Elaine Giles on June 2, 1946, who preceded him in death on February 27, 2004. Bud was a local businessman, a gentleman farmer and a loving caretaker of his family. Bud was a lifetime member of the Alma Masonic Lodge # 244, lifetime member of Gleaner Harmony Arbor #273 and Alma VFW and regularly attended the Gratiot Community Senior Center. He was also a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church Alma, MI.
He is survived by his 4 children; daughter Andrea and Eric Simandl of Las Vegas, NV, son Lynn and Elaine Roslund of Midland, MI, daughter Cheryl and Edward Abrams of Roswell, GA, daughter Melody Roslund of St. Louis, MI, 8 grandchildren; Jill (Nicholas) Douthit of Virginia, Seth Roslund of Texas, Elizabeth Roslund of Midland, MI, Casey (Bryan) Villarreal, Geoffrey Abrams, Andrew Abrams all of Georgia, Monica Losey and Kent Pannill of Alma, MI, Michelle Losey and Kirby Hare of St. Louis, MI, 8 great grandchildren; Colin, Hayes, Noelee, Hattie Ann, Davien, Daegan, Keon and Jarek, brother Kenneth Roslund of Ithaca, MI, sister-in-law Margaret Roslund of St. Louis, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Elaine, Bud was preceded in death by his brothers; Herman, Everet, Arthur, Edvin, Quenten, LeRoy, and Walter Roslund and 2 sisters; Hulda Greenough and Agnes Bryant, and his special nephew Timothy Roslund. He will be missed by his family and friends and his faithful dog Daisy.
