Edna Prendergast

Edna Josephine Prendergast, age 91, of Owosso, MI died Monday, June 4th, 2012 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Thursday, June 7th at 10:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held Wednesday 5-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI.
Edna was born in Fenton, Michigan on July 22, 1920, the daughter of Gustave and Maude (Boyer) Hecht.
She was preceded in death by her husband W. Eugene Prendergast in 1979 who was a well-known musician.
Edna enjoyed gardening, genealogy, reading and bridge. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren. During her lifetime, she was very active in the community, including PTO Boards, Musicale and formerly serving as the Woman's Club president.
She is survived by daughter Marie and Wayne Brubaker of Swartz Creek, MI; daughter Eugenie and Joseph Wing of Southern Pines, NC, granddaughters Stephanie Brubaker of Ann Arbor, MI; Aimee Brubaker of Flint, MI; and Laura and Adam Parker of Cary, NC.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Edna was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Wing and her siblings, Arlington, Arla, Ward, Wilma and Robert.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Shiawassee County 2005 E. Copas Road Owosso, MI 48867 or St. Paul's Catholic Church.
