Edna Taphouse

Edna Ellen "Eddie" Taphouse age 68 of Owosso, Michigan, died on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons chapel on Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Thadd Sparrow will officiate and burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, February 03, 2008 from 6-8 P.M. and Monday, February 04, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Edna was born in Flint, Michigan on November 08, 1939 the daughter of Clayton Thomas & Mary Esther (Hodge) Snell. She attended Owosso High School and she resided most of her life in the Owosso area since 1955. She married Gary Taphouse on November 30, 1957 at the 1st Church of Christ in Owosso, Michigan and he survives her. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Owosso, Michigan. She also enjoyed going on cruises, and she and her husband just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a Hawaiian Cruise. Edna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and she loved to spoil them. Edna enjoyed playing slot machines and going to Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of Owosso Township Auxiliary, ran the Hot Lunch Program at Owosso Schools for 2 years. She was an Election Volunteer, and volunteered for the youth Bowling League in Corunna. She bowled on leagues in Owosso for a number of years.
Survivors are her husband; Gary Taphouse of Owosso, Michigan, 1 son; Gary & Joni Taphouse of Owosso, Michigan, 2 grandchildren; Alicia Taphouse and Michael Taphouse, 2 brothers; Clayton & Elizabeth Snell, Richard & Kathy Snell, 1 niece; Cindy Snell, and 1 nephew; Richard & April Snell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
