Edwin E. Stowe, age 92, of Alma, MI passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor John Hagerman officiating. Burial will take place at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Edwin was born in Troy, Michigan on February 21, 1922, the son of Charles and Sophia (Mehringer) Stowe. Edwin married Beverly Gilbert on April 21, 1951 in Detroit, MI; she preceded him in death on November 22, 1996. He then married Alice Buskirk in September 1998 in Ithaca, MI. He served as a Marine Corp. Cpl during WW II. Edwin resided in the Detroit area most of his life until he retired from Temperature Engineering in Detroit in March of 1987. Following retirement, he and Beverly moved to Duck Lake in Crystal where he enjoyed his hobby of fishing and playing the harmonica. He attended New Haven Church of God.
Edwin is survived by his wife Alice Stowe of Alma, MI, 3 sons; Curtis and Julie Stowe of Walled Lake, MI, Timothy and Lori Stowe of Novi, MI, Andy and Barb Stowe of St. Johns, MI, step daughter Phyllis and Larry Stoner of Ithaca, MI, step son Michael and Karen Buskirk of Stanton, MI, 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, and 3 brothers.
