Eileen Dorothy Proko, age 91, of Perrinton, MI, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Hospice House of Mid Michigan, Lansing, MI with her family by her side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, MI, on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Edwin Dwyer officiating.  Burial will take place at Fulton Center Cemetery, Perrinton, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

Eileen was born in Grand Rapids, MI on June 6, 1929, the daughter of Wilbur Perle and Amelia Christine (Arndt) Leggett. She graduated from Godwin High School in Wyoming, MI. Eileen married Donald Proko; Don passed away on January 8, 2000.

Eileen worked at Fulton Schools as a secretary and as a secretary & librarian at Perrinton Elementary School. She also worked at Portland St. Pats as a librarian where she enjoyed reading to the kids. After retirement Eileen enjoyed traveling with Don to visit family in Texas and also trips to Hawaii. She loved time spent with grandchildren in Texas and Michigan. Eileen was a supportive grandma who enjoyed attending sporting events. She enjoyed attending her husbands dance band performances. She loved to be surrounded by people and will be remembered as a giving person. She was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, MI.

She is survived by daughter Theresa O'Berry of Portland, MI, son Terry and Judy Proko of Houston, TX, son Tom and Jan Proko of Chelsea, MI; grandchildren: Amber and Lance Dubay of Kalkaska, MI, Benjamin and Katie Proko of Brenham, TX, Emily and Brad Pearcy of Tomball, TX, Shawn and Michelle Proko of Chelsea, MI; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Barrett Pearcy, Lindsey and Clara Proko, Hailey and Gabe Proko, and Madison Dubay. She is also survived by sisters: Ardris Hurley and Shirley Bartlette, brother David and Betty Leggett, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by parents, husband Don, father and mother in law Alexander and Katherine Proko, son-in-law Bradford John "Brad" O'Berry, sisters: Leona (Richard) Leatherman, Esther (Arlo) Leatherman, Dora (Ron) Wilcox, and Patricia (Glenn) Henderson, brother Elmer "Bud" (Lena) Leggett, and brother-in-law Bruce Bartlette.

The family would like to thank Mary and Wendy Andrew and Janet Lane for the help and wonderful care they gave to Eileen.
