Elaine Frances Harris age 84 of Owosso, Michigan died on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Durand Convalescent Center after a long battle with Alzheimera�(TM)s. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna, Michigan on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor John Walworth will officiate and burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna, Michigan. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Julia was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on May 9, 1922 the daughter of Theodore & Marion (Sargent) Bonnin.
She was married to George Aldon Harris on October 6, 1940 in Henderson, Michigan. George predeceased her on October 18, 2005. She worked for the Telephone Company in Owosso, was an Avon rep., and retired from Consumers Power Company. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Durand, Michigan Elaine enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing the organ and in her younger years she liked to snowmobile with her husband. But above all, Elaine enjoyed her family and the good times they had together especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors are her daughter; Norma Jean & Ron Chrzan of Vernon, Michigan, her son; Robert Aldon Harris & friend Dennis Wiengartz of Ovid, Michigan, two grandsons; Matthew Aldon & Amy Chrzan & Michael Aaron & Melissa Chrzan, two great-granddaughters; Makayla Paige & Makenna Taylor Chrzan, one sister; Geri & don Elliott, three sister in-laws; Katie Harris of Clare, MI, Maxine & John Burwell of Las Vegas, NV, Beth Bonnin of Owosso, MI, one brother in-law; Harold Toby and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband; George, and brother; Robert L. Bonnin.
Memorials may be made to the Vernon District Public Library building fund in her memory.
