Elden Jacob Stamm, Sr.

     Elden Jacob "Al" Stamm, Sr., age 82, of Ithaca, MI, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab, St. Louis, MI. 

      Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 4:30-6:30 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI. Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery at a later date. 

     Al was born in Edmore, Michigan on October 19, 1941, the son of John and Bernice (Seymore) Stamm. Al married Pat Smith of Ithaca on June 17, 1965, and they were married for 43 years until Pat's passing in February 2009. He worked for the catholic church in Ithaca for 30+ years and also worked for the city of Ithaca for many years until his retirement. He also mowed lawns for many people throughout town. It was by far his favorite job of all! He loved going to the Crystal raceway and his passion was fishing.  

      Al had the gift of gab and could talk in circles like no one else. He certainly held his friendships very high with many people and unfortunately in his final months he sadly realized he had a loss of them as none of them came to see him besides his cousin and his wife. 

     He is survived by his son Ike and Val Stamm of Ithaca, MI; two twin grandsons to carry on his Stamm name Jake and Brody Stamm of Ithaca, MI; and sister Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat, sister Joan, sister Barb, and loving brother (best friend) John. 

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center, St. Louis, MI or Gratiot County Commission on Aging, Ithaca, MI or to the wishes of the family.
