Eldon H. "Jack" Goodsell, age 80, of Alma, MI died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Masonic Pathways, Doig Chapel on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Nathan Workman officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday for two hours prior to the funeral service from 10-12 at the Doig Chapel.
Jack was born in Greenville, Michigan on May 21, 1932, the son of Harold and Mary (Olin) Goodsell. He graduated from Stanton High School with the class of 1950, and married Nancy (McClure) Goodsell on May 19, 1951 in Stanton, MI. He served his country in the US Navy as a 2nd class petty officer. Jack was an electrician and retired from Dow Chemical in Midland in 1992. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time at his cottage on Coldwater Lake, bowling, watching baseball, and spending time traveling.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Goodsell of Alma, MI, 3 daughters; Cathy and Larry Hanley of St. Louis, MI, Cindy and Don Long of Cadillac, MI, Cheryl Whitman of Midland, MI, son Craig Goodsell of Belding, MI, 11 grandchildren; Laurie Hegyi and Mike Hale of St. Louis, MI, Christina and Joe Wilson of St. Louis, MI, Amy Denman of Alma, MI, Jeff Hanley of Holly, MI, Niki Vollmar of Cadillac, MI, Amanda Long of Chicago, IL, Adam and Elizabeth Long of London, England, Lucas Long of Cadillac, MI, Jaimeson and Joshua Rutledge of Charlotte, NC, Anthony Goodsell of Georgia, Craig and Kylie Goodsell of Georgia, 15 great grandchildren, and a brother in law Charles McClure of Boynton Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis Goodsell, and an infant sister.
