Elisabeth Levey

Elisabeth Levey, loving wife, mother, and grandmother age 88, of Elsie, MI died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns, MI on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00 P.M., Mr. Dan Cameron will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI. There will be an Eastern Star Service 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Elisabeth was born in Duplain Township, Michigan on December 13, 1924, the daughter of Orin and Ruth (Shellenbarger) Acre. She graduated with the class of 1943 from Elsie High School. On October 12, 1944 Elisabeth married Dale Levey Jr. in Duplain Township, Michigan. Dale died September 17, 1996. Elisabeth and Dale Levey owned and operated Levey's Jewelry Store in Elsie, Michigan for 37 years. She enjoyed quilting, and was a 4H Leader for many years. She was a member of the OES, Elsie Ambulance Service, Women's Literary Club and the Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns, MI.
She is survived by her daughter Janice Roossien of Chiefland, FL, son, Bruce and Dawn Levey of Elsie, MI, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Ivah and Robert Risley of Ovid, MI, Ruby Kimball of St. Johns, MI, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Dale, daughter Violet, and brothers; Paul, Lyle, Leon, and Sidney Acre.
