Elizabeth May Donahoe, age 101, of Ithaca, Michigan died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Rosewood Adult Foster Care, Ithaca, Michigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's the Apostle Catholic Church Ithaca, MI on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Fr. Jules Spleet officiating. Burial will take place at the Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel, Ithaca, MI.

On a snowy night in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on May 31, 1910 Clyde and Maude Hays welcomed into this world Elizabeth May Hays. She attended Ithaca schools and graduated with the class of 1928. On June 9, 1931 Elizabeth married Charles J. Donahoe in New Lexington, Ohio. Charles died on March 4, 1981.

Elizabeth was a homemaker and became a rural mail carrier and eventually worked for the county of Gratiot, which was also the Department of Social Services. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Mary Gabrion of Ithaca, MI, Marty and Gary McDaid of Ithaca, MI, son William and Elaine Donahoe of Las Vegas, NV, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Charles, and son in law Larry Gabrion.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ithaca Public Library, St. Paul's the Apostle Catholic Church or the Ithaca Senior Center.
