Elizabeth M. Hess age 86 of Elsie, Michigan died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at The Courts of Holt Nursing Home Holt, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Elsie United Methodist Church Elsie, MI on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Edwin Snook and Pastor Fred Fischer will officiate with burial at Duplain Township Cemetery Duplain Twp., Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2006 from 2-4 & 6:30 - 8:30 P.M.

Elizabeth was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 12, 1919 the daughter of Lyman and Estella ( Grenlund ) Cobb. She resided most of her life in Boston, Norfolk Virginia, San Francisco and Elsie, Michigan. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1938 and from Michigan State College with the class of 1942. Elizabeth married Lawrence Hess on November 19, 1944 in Elsie, Michigan at the Cobb Farm. He died on January 1, 1992. She taught school in Sebewaing and Elsie and worked as a substitute in the Ovid-Elsie School System. Elizabeth was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church as well as the Womens Literary Club, Elsie Historical Society, Clinton County Historical Society, Former Chairman of the Elsie Public Library Board, member of the Clinton County Library Board, and Former Elsie Village Assesor.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara & Richard Hall of Mason, MI, granddaughter Carrie & Richard Breslin of Mason, MI, grandson Tim Hess Hall of Mason, MI, great granddaughter Kallie Elizabeth Breslin of Mason, MI, loving niece Bonny McVeigh of Davisburg, MI, and many nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and 1 brother Andrew Cobb.

Memorials may be made to Elsie Public Library or the Elsie Historical Society. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
