Elizabeth Lydia Grace Hunt, age 81, of Ithaca, MI passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at McVeighs TLC, Ithaca, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ithaca Church of God on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Rev James R. Conn will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday July 5, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel, Ithaca, MI. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo, MI with graveside services Tuesday at 2:30 PM.
Elizabeth was born in Hastings, Michigan on September 14, 1928, the daughter of Verd and Anna (Mallory) Rumfield. Elizabeth graduated from Sunfield High School and earned a Bachelors Degree from Huntington College. She resided in Sunfield, Freeport, Battle Creek, Grand Ledge & Middleton before moving to Ithaca, Michigan in 1971.
Elizabeth married William Hunt in Sunfield, Michigan on December 23, 1957, Bill passed away on March 27, 2008. Elizabeth retired from teaching in the Ithaca Public Schools in 1985 after 30 years. Elizabeth managed the original volunteer Hospice Program in Gratiot County when it started here in 1988 for 5 years. She was a member of the Ithaca Church of God. Elizabeth was a singing evangelist for 5 years in the United Brethren Church in 1952. Elizabeth & Bill traveled to the Holy Land in 1969 and visited Germany & Austria.
She is survived by her brother Verd Rumfield of Lansing, MI, 3 nieces; Robin Shaffer, Susan Roper, and Valerie Wright, 2 nephews; Tim Rumfield, and Michael Rumfield and many special friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother Robert.
