Elizabeth "Beth" A. Husted age 83 of St. Louis, Michigan died Monday, January 2, 2006 at Gratiot Medical Center Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ St. Louis, MI on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Ithaca Cemetery Ithaca, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Beth was born in St. Louis, Michigan on March 21, 1922 the daughter of Earl Peter and Edna ( Carmon ) Hicks. She resided most of her life in the Mid - Michigan area and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1940. Beth married Wayne A. Husted on November 6, 1953 in St. Louis, MI, Wayne died February 14, 2003. Beth worked as a secretary for St. Louis Creamery, Ray Joint Auto, Leonard Refineries, and CMU. After her retirement in 1982 from CMU, she opened B & W Bookstores in Alma for five years. She was an avid reader, rose gardener, loved birds, and also shared her baking with many friends. She enjoyed making people laugh and was a very generous caring lady. Her family was very important to her, especially visiting with her grandchildren. She was a Member of St. Louis Chruch of Christ and OES.
She is survived by her 2 sons; Wayne & Christine Husted of Indianapolis, IN, Dan & Sandra Husted of Charlotte, MI, 3 grandchildren; Sharyn & Kurt Root of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Daniel Husted of Kalamazoo, MI, Nathaniel Husted of Indianapolis, IN, 2 sisters; Nola Daniels of Missouri, Lois J. & Dick Baker of Virginia Beach, VA, 2 brothers, Fred C. Hicks of Carson City, MI, and Don & Janice Hicks of Boyne City, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers William and Norman Hicks.
Memorials may be made to St. Louis Church of Christ, American Cancer Society, or Gratiot Medical Center. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel, 117 North East Street, St. Louis, Michigan 48880
