Elizabeth A. Martino age 87, of Owosso, MI died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Owosso, MI.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Fr. David Fisher will officiate. Burial will take place at Hyner Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.
Elizabeth was born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on October 26, 1920 the daughter of Vincent and Christine (Marasco) Sementelli. She graduated from Immaculate Conception in Lock Haven, PA with the class of 1939. Elizabeth married Leonard Martino at St. Agnes Church in Lock Haven on August 30, 1941. He died on July 5, 1983. She lived in Renova, PA until 1967 when she moved Owosso. Elizabeth was a homemaker. She enjoyed needle work and embroidery and she was a good cook. She was a member of the St. Bernadine Guild of St. Joseph and the Sons of Italy, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI.
She is survived by her son Leonard and Carol Martino of Marietta, GA, daughter Lisa and James Belanger of Beaverton, MI, 2 grandchildren; Kim and Rob Duncan of Woodstock, GA. Charles and Beth Sanford of Elsie, MI, 6 great grandchildren; Aubree, Avery, Alston, and Ansley Duncan, Rubie and Henry Sanford, sister Genevieve Wallace of Bellefontaine, OH; brother Francis and Geraldine Sementelli of Sebring, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, son James Martino on November 16, 1969, 2 sisters Philomena, and Catherine, and 2 brothers Vincent and Richard.
