Elizabeth "Betty" Luella Scholtz, age 87, of Alma, Michigan died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Warwick Living Center, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.

Elizabeth was born in Alma, Michigan on January 5, 1924, the daughter of William and Dora Amanda (Henne) Dast. She graduated from St. Louis High School.

On June 13, 1942 she married Harry J. Scholtz in Little Rock, Arkansas. Harry passed away on June 18, 1968. She was a homemaker and she retired from Schnepps Nursing Home in St. Louis. Betty was a life member of the Pythian Sisters, and she enjoyed dancing and calling square dances, bingo and bowling. Betty resided most of her life in the Alma - St. Louis area. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Nora Smith of Midland, MI, son Joseph and Sheran Scholtz of St. Louis, MI, 5 grandchildren; Barbara and Greg Auclair of Midland, Chuck and Carmen Smith of North Carolina, Bill Beach of Breckenridge, MI, Wayne and Tammy Beach of St. Louis, MI, Schawn and Roger Krapohl of Breckenridge, MI. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Vern & Linda Recker. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, son in law Dale C. Smith, and her 9 brothers & sisters.
