Ella Mae Price, age 83, of Owosso, MI passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 at her daughter's home in Big Rapids, MI with her children present.
A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM, Friends are invited to call Wednesday, November 26, 2008 from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ella Mae was born in Kindred, North Dakota on September 28, 1925, the daughter of Albert and Selma (Bjerke) Swenson. She attended Fargo Business College. Ella Mae married Lewis Price on June 19, 1945 in Kindred, ND. Lewis passed away on April 26, 1963. Ella Mae resided in Owosso since 1950 after coming from North Dakota. She worked as the secretary in the Guidance Office of Owosso High School for 23 years. Ella Mae volunteered for the Shiawassee Arts Council for many years. She had been active in the PTA and League of Women Voters, and she knitted many sweaters for the Shriner's Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Her Bridge Group brought much joy to her life. Ella Mae's family was very important to her. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Owosso, MI.
Ella Mae is survived by her son Robert and Heather Price of Jackson, MI, daughter Connie and Stephen Lossing of Big Rapids, MI, 4 grandchildren; Thomas Price of Jackson, MI, Rachel Lossing of Big Rapids, MI, Chad Lossing of Big Rapids, MI and Ana Lossing of Big Rapids, MI, brother Donald and Bernie Swenson of North Bend, OR, 2 sisters; Kay Lovell of Beach, ND and Dorothy Smith of Buena Park, CA, special cousin Jan Hinds of Redmond, WA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Lewis, 5 brothers; Milo, Orlin, Glenn, Wendell & Alden Swenson and 2 sisters; Sally Goldie and Verna Paulson.
