Elmer Clapp

Elmer H. Clapp, age 71, of Elsie, Michigan died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at his home in Gwinn, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Steven Persons officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday starting at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Elmer was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 7, 1942, the son of Everett and Gladys (Pretzer) Clapp. On November 4, 1962 he married Frances Kay Jones in Saginaw, Michigan. He was an electrician and worked for Michigan Electrical. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and St. Bernard dogs. Elmer was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, North Dakota.

He is survived by his wife Kay Clapp of Gwinn, MI, 3 daughters; Mylynn and Jerod Tufte of Dawson, ND, Joyelle and Joseph Dorer of Holt, MI, Liisa Clapp of Bismarck, ND, 3 sons; Paul Clapp and fiancé, Wendy Spach of Owosso, MI, Patrick and Pamela Clapp of Elsie, MI, Garrett Clapp of Berkeley, CA, mother Gladys Clapp of Midland, MI, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Sharon and John Kress, Lynn Morzinski, and 2 brothers; Michael Clapp, Carter Clapp. He was predeceased by his father, and 1 grandchild, Mayna Tufte.
