Elvia Garcia

Elvia O. Garcia died May 5, 2010 at the age of 70. Born in Mexico City, Mexico on May 27, 1939 the daughter of Bernardo and Edwarda (Diaz) Ortiz. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid. On August 16, 1963 Elvia married Roland Garcia and he survives her.

Also surviving are daughter, Jackie DeSander; son, Luciano Garcia; granddaughters, Mehgan and Seneca DeSander; grandsons, Hunter DeSander and Little Lou Garcia; sister, Delores del Bosque; and brother, Fernando Ortiz. Elvia was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid with the Rev. Fr. Ray Urbanek officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes in Ovid. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of the family's choice.
