Elwood Lowell

Elwood James “Bud” Lowell, 84, of Crystal, MI, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, 104 E. Cass Street, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating.  Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Lansing, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Elwood was born on April 14, 1932 in Lansing, MI, the son of James and Ethelyne (Edwards) Lowell.  Bud served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Bud married Janet Mae Kenyon on March 24, 1956. Janet passed away May 2, 2014.  Bud worked at Melling Drop Forge for 42 years, he retired in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and gardening. He liked spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his children James and Karen Lowell, of Perrinton, MI, Diana, and John Ridge of Rock Falls, IL, April and Jim Ettinger of St. Johns, MI, Ernie and Julie Lowell of Laingsburg, MI, 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother and sisters.
