Emerson “Barney” Barrone of Alma formerly of Lakeland, Fl. and St. Johns died peacefully November 27, 2008 at the age of 86. We rejoice that he is with his Savior in heaven. Yet, will miss his robust enjoyment of life. He was born in Hubbardston, MI, the son of Elmer and Mary (Ransom) Barrone. Emerson married Dolores Wilke on June 26, 1954 in Michigan City, IN, and she preceded him in death in May of 1998. Emerson was a WW II Army veteran and retired from Federal Mogul where he was a quality control manager, was a member of the E.L.C.A., and the Masonic Lodge # 178 of Hubbardston. Emerson loved his Lord and his family.
Surviving Emerson are his sons, David (Ana Poplaski) Barrone of Granger, IN, and William (Carol) Geleske of Barrington, IL, also grandchildren, Philip (Anna) Geleske, Timothy (Pinky) Geleske, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Rebecca Barrone and five great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Emerson was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Masonic Home of Michigan in Alma with Pastor George Ayoub officiating, burial 1:00 p.m at Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns. The family will receive friends, Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, MI. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of contributions to the Masonic Home of Michigan Foundation or the Parkinson's Foundation. “I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.” Psalms 116:13 (KJV)
