Erma Bearden

Erma Fay Bearden, age 76, of Alma, MI died Friday, July 13, 2012 at The Laurels of Carson City, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Rex Albring officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Township Cemetery in Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Erma was born in Ashley, Michigan on September 7, 1935, the daughter of Cecil D. and Bertha L. (Chubb) Parker. She married Ronald Bearden on October 9, 1951 in Sicles, MI. He passed away Nov. 30, 1997. She was a lifelong resident of Gratiot County. She liked canning, gardening, crocheting, and doing word search puzzles. Erma always enjoyed visiting with her friends and family.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Shirley and Luke Tonneberger of Rockford, MI, Rebecca Griffiths of Alma, MI, Linda and David Cordray of Bannister, MI, 2 sons; Samuel and Penny Bearden of Ashley, MI, Ronald and Missy Bearden of Rockford, MI, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, and a sister.
