Erma Jacobs

Erma B. Jacobs age 91 of St. Louis, Michigan died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Eaton County Medical Care Facility, Charlotte, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Ron Burns will officiate with burial at Seville Township Cemetery Seville Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 1-3 & 5-7 P.M.

Erma was born in Wheeler, Michigan on July 3, 1916 the daughter of Steven and Ella ( Beard ) Alspaugh. She was a life long resident of St. Louis, MI and attended St. Louis Schools. Erma married William E. Jacobs on October 10, 1937 in Alma, Michigan. He died on July 10, 2003. Erma was a homemaker and she was an excellent cook. She was an avid reader, played cribbage, enjoyed fishing and bird watching and she loved the outdoors. She grew beautiful gardens, and she volunteered at the voting booths. Most of all she was a wonderful mother who enjoyed her family.

She is survived by 3 sons; Wayne & Caroline Jacobs of Grand Ledge, MI, William & Patricia Jacobs of Holt, MI, Mike & Cindy Jacobs of Charlotte, MI, 6 grandchildren; Kevin Jacobs, Kery Jacobs, Annette Fralic, Frank Jacobs, Nick Jacobs, Mona Jacobs, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 sister Ilah Alspaugh, 1 brother Raymond Alspaugh and 1 sister-in-law Elaine Alspaugh.

Memorials may be made to Volunteers of America. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
