Ernest "Gene" E. Roach age 79 of Owosso, Michigan died Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Genesys Health Park, Flint, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 12:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Pastor Mike Herner will officiate. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2004 at Ames Chapel Cemetery in West Baden, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 10:00 A.M. a�" 12:00 Noon at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
Ernest was born in Sandborn, Indiana on August 6, 1925 the son of Virgil & Rachel ( Rumple ) Roach. He resided most of his life in Indiana & wintered many years in Florida. Ernest married Jessie Wininger in Bicknell, Indiana on November 24, 1944. She died on February 12, 1982. He worked as a telephone contractor for many years for Henkle-McCoy in Indiana as well as for General Telephone. He loved to play cards, and watch game shows. He also loved to entertain his family with jokes. He really enjoyed his winters in Florida and his fruit trees. Ernest served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #22 in Linton, IN
He is survived by his 5 children; Lana Hatfield of Owosso, MI, Rose & Robert Duncan of Burton, MI, Mona & Jerry Kramer of Bay City, MI, Matthew & Holly Roach of Owosso, MI, & Mark Roach of Owosso, MI, 3 grandchildren; Angela Pederson, Amanda Duncan, & Jeray Kramer, 2 great grandchildren; Emily & Logan Pederson, 1 brother Bob & Ruth Roach of Indiana, & 1 sister Ethel Wilson of Indiana. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, 2 sisters, 1 brother, & 1 son-in-law Russell.
Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #22, PO Box 168, Linton, Indiana 47441. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
